Jacob is a New York based pianist, performer, and voice teacher. Classically trained on the piano with over 25 years experience, he works regularly as an accompanist for musical theater and has had the honor to play for several incredible performers including Adam Pascal, Eden Espinosa, Jarrod Spector, Laura Osnes, Corey Cott, Josh Young, and Anneliese vander Pol. Known for his versatility handling various styles from golden age musical theater to folk to pop/rock, he loves supporting performers both on and off the stage . Collaborations as a music director have included working with Tony Award Winner Ben Vereen, as well as former Billy Elliot resident choreographer Greg Graham, and Cash Money Record's Karine Hannah. He frequently coaches singers that find employment everywhere from Broadway National Tours to weddings to the local dive bar. He also has extensive experience working in education and has been part of the voice teaching faculty at Sam Houston State University, as well as a teaching artist in numerous children's and pre professional theaters in New York and Houston. He holds a B.M. in Music Theory/Composition from Sam Houston State University, Magnum Cum Laude. Continuing education includes completing Levels I, II, and III in Somatic Voicework the Lovetri Method, New York Vocal Coaching's 40 Hour Teacher Certification, and The Esper Studio Two Year professional acting program under the instruction of William Esper. He owes so much to all the incredible teachers he's learned from, and currently studies under Justin Stoney, Ezra Bershatsky, Judith Grodowitz, and Timothy John Smith. He is an avid fan of The Alexander Technique, Blues/Fusion Dancing, and following a primal/ancestral lifestyle. In an earlier life he trained horses using John Lyon's Natural Horsemanship method, and enjoys escaping the city for some nature now and then.
